You’ve weeded, planted your annuals and bulbs and laid a thick layer of brown, black or red mulch only to see it fade to a dry, sickly bone gray within the first season. Why is it that some types of mulches can fade so quickly? Natural, organically sourced woods will fade quickly and, although there are a number of contributing factors, extreme weather and exposure to sunlight are the leading culprits of faded mulch. Fortunately for you, Solarfast™ Mulch Dye is exactly what you need to bring the color back to your faded mulch. But, how does it work? Read on and discover why our revolutionary, premium quality Solarfast™ Mulch Dye is the answer to your gardening prayers.
Recycled wood is ground at a processing facility that creates smaller wood fibers also known as bare mulch.
The wood is then dried. Living wood and freshly felled, green timber contains copious amounts of water. In addition to drying the wood, this phase also ensures that the mulch is pest and pathogen-free.
The dried, bare mulch next enters a coloring system wherein super-concentrated, environmentally sound colorants are mixed with water which is used to treat the wood fibers.
The dyed mulch is dried and cured again so that the colorant completely encapsulates the wood.
As you can see, anyone interested in breathing new life into faded wood (and, yes, even rubber) mulch should be interested in Steps 3 and 4 above because Solarfast™ Mulch Dyes are exactly the same type of environmentally friendly dyes used in making colored mulches. But, and this the important part, they are even better because they don't require extended drying time to work! Best of all, they work on a wide variety of mulch including cedar, cypress, hardwood, pine straw, and even rubber mulch! Solarfast™ Mulch Dye can be applied with the use of any type of garden or lawn sprayer and starts to work as soon as its applied.
Each batch of our product has been rigorously tested in order to ensure consistent and high-quality color. Will Not Fade-Once the color is applied properly and allowed to dry, it can last up to one year.
